Disabled People
Just recently I acquired the domain http://DisabledPeople.org and decided I would use it as a review/resource blog for anything on the web that might be of interest to disabled people. I’ve started off with a few site reviews and a couple of articles about some of the essential things disabled people need to know about. My feeling is that there are plenty of resources telling disabled people what they need to know, the problem is that none of this information is volunteered. Volvo V70 with Right Hand Clutch
Last week I took delivery of my new Motability car. Murray Volvo in Edinburgh had a very laid back approach to getting things done, but all went to plan…..kind of!
Unfortunately the adaptation was not fitted to the car when I got it. We were let down by a company that advertised a nationwide hand control fitting service. When it came to the crunch though, they were not prepared to travel to Scotland. Luckily Graham from Autosound (just outside Edinburgh) stepped up to the mark and came down to my home to do the job for me.

A few months ago I wrote an article about a Right Hand Clutch adaptation that might make it possible for me to drive a manual car instead of the automatic I’ve driven for the past 6 years. Now, don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against automatic cars. In fact, I would really prefer to be driving an automatic, but the prices on the mobility scheme have gone through the roof, especially for the size and type of car that I would like to be driving. Walton Centre – Surgeon Visit
After seeing a Nurse and a Nurse Consultant on my last trip to the Walton Centre in June, I was told that the Consultant wanted to see me before we made any firm decisions on where we go from here. My Spinal Column Stimulator has not been working properly since Christmas and hardly at all for the last few months. My pain levels have been getting higher and I have been taking more tablets to counter this, so suffering more side effects.
