Deep Vein Thrombosis
In the hospital I was told that I had a Deep Vein Thrombosis. That this was a Blood Clot and that they didn’t really know what had caused it. I was told that I needed to take Warfarin to reduce the danger of getting another clot and to reduce the chances of a bit of the clot breaking off and heading to my lungs, a Pulmonary Embolism. I was also given a gorgeous stocking to wear on my left leg.
When I left the hospital, I really didn’t have any idea what was wrong with me, how it was going to effect me, how long it would take for me to get better or even if I would get better. Fortunately, there are loads of resources on the net to give this information. The unfortunate part is that the resources tend to fall into two camps. Either it is aimed at tourists going on long haul flights and tends to be a little too simplistic. Or, it is aimed at medical professionals and tends to be a little too detailed.
Since this information is readily available, I don’t really see the need to go into details. However, I am happy to try and help anyone find answers if they are struggling. Please contact me or comment below.
Where things get a bit more difficult is the next bit. When the Thrombosis doesn’t get better.
