Where Did Tintent Come From?
I have always enjoyed camping. I know it’s something I first did when I was very small. In fact, the first memory I have of spending time on a camp site was a trip I took with my parents in a VW Camper they had borrowed. I don’t know exactly how old I was but my sister was still in a cot so I can’t have been older than about 4 or 5.

Later, I joined the Cubs and then the Scouts and camping was a regular weekend pursuit. Fortunately, I met a girl with a similar interest. We bought a tent and disappeared off to Greece for several weeks. When we had our first daughter, we bought a bigger tent and off we went again!!
Unfortunately this all came to a bit of an abrupt stop when I suffered my DVT. There was simply no way that I could manage under canvas when I could hardly get through the night in a bed. As for pitching a tent and knocking in tent pegs.….…well er, no!
This was a situation we didn’t like.

Our thoughts soon turned to alternatives and the first thing we thought of was a Camper. We struggled but we eventually found a Red VW T4 with an Automatic Gearbox and Air Conditioning.
It wasn’t long before our lovely new van became the Tin Tent we always wanted!
