The Problem
We’ve had a little problem this weekend at the Tintent Aire. Our site was pulled by our host at about 0600hrs Friday morning. Once again, they are complaining that we are using too high a proportion of the server resources. This has happened before and it is probably because of my self proclaimed status of “Plugin Junkie“! It is annoying though, especially because my host is far less attentive when it comes to re-enabling the site.

The Solution
In the past, I have been advised to make sure my WordPress installation is up to date (it is) and that all my plugins are up to date (they are). If this doesn’t help to identify the problem then disable all plugins, re-enabling one every 24hrs. If my host identifies a problem again, we should be able to spot the cause much more easily.
So, I disabled all my plugins and asked my host to re-enable my site. They’ve just done this (1000hrs Monday) and say they will monitor my site over the next 24hrs. I have re-enabled the plugins I consider to be essential and I won’t touch anything else until I hear back from my host.
If all is well, I can then re-enable more plugins. If not, we have a bit of a problem! I can either disable all plugins completely or disable one at a time until they say everything is OK.
Help
If anyone wants to offer any further advice on this subject, I would love to hear what you have to say. Even better, I still have a couple of Google Wave invites to give to anyone commenting something useful on my site!
